Our Fabrics & Heritage Techniques
Every Rajsi Vastraa fabric carries the imprint of a centuries-old Rajasthani craft. Knowing the technique helps you price, position, and tell the story of your collection.
Bandhej
Bandhej (Bandhani) is a centuries-old Rajasthani tie-dye technique where artisans hand-knot tiny portions of cloth before dyeing, creating intricate dotted patterns. Each piece is unique and a hallmark of Jaipur and Jodhpur craftsmanship.
Leheriya
Leheriya is a traditional wave-pattern tie-dye from Rajasthan, named after the Hindi word for 'wave'. The diagonal stripes are produced by tightly rolling and binding the fabric before dyeing — a festive favourite for Teej and Gangaur.
Pichwai
Pichwai is a 400-year-old devotional art form from Nathdwara depicting Lord Krishna. When translated onto fabric, the elaborate motifs of lotuses, cows and peacocks bring temple-art richness to apparel.
Bagru
Bagru is a hand block print from the village of Bagru near Jaipur, known for earthy natural dyes (indigo, madder, pomegranate) and bold geometric and floral motifs printed with hand-carved wooden blocks.
Sanganeri
Sanganeri block prints originate near Jaipur and are famous for delicate floral 'buti' motifs on light backgrounds, traditionally printed using vegetable dyes — a refined, summery alternative to Bagru.
